Hosts informing the dress code

Degrees of formality vary with different types of events. Some events are very formal and in such occasions, you have to wear a highly formal dress. When you attend a moderately formal event, you can choose a different type of dress. Informing the guests about the dress code of an event has become a common practice these days and when a host passes on this information to the guests, choosing the right formal dress becomes an easy process.

Different types of dress codes

The dress codes can be classified into different categories and they include casual, dressy casual, festive attire, cocktail dress, semi-formal dresses, formal and moderately formal. Men usually wear a tuxedo and a tie when they attend very formal events. When it comes to women, long or short cocktails or long Evening Dresses are the most popular items. In very formal events such as dinner parties, you can find many women wearing long evening gowns and day gowns for the daytime parties. When women attend dance parties, they wear ball gowns as well. Black or white is the most popular color for men’s formal dresses.

Formal clothing in different parts of the world

Formal Dresses in the western countries completely differ from the formal clothing in the eastern countries. In countries like India, most women wear sari and it is the most popular formal dress for women. In other parts of the world, you cannot find women wearing a sari.  There is more diversity in other parts of the world as far as formal clothing for men and women are concerned. For example; West African males wear the Dashiki as a formal dress. When it comes to Norway, Bunad is the most popular formal clothing available and both men and women wear these types of dresses. It can be said without an iota doubt that all regions in the world have their own specific dress code for formal events and these dresses differ by their style, color and features.

Although there are many differences in the respective features of formal clothing in different parts of the world, these types of dresses are primarily reserved for very formal events in all countries and regions.
